Dish Network Earnings, Revenue Miss Views But Internet TV Growing – Investor's Business Daily

Dish Network (DISH) said Thursday that adjusted  third-quarter earnings were 57 a share, down 15% from a year ago, with revenue falling 5% to $3.58 billion, missing consensus estimates. A year earlier, Dish Network earned 67 cents a share on sales of $3.75 billion. Analysts expected Dish Network to report earnings of 59 cents on sales of $3.6 billion for the period ended Sept. 30, amid falling pay-TV subscribers.

In the September quarter, Dish said it added 16,000 video subscribers excluding the one-time removal of 145,000 subscribers in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Dish has offset pay-TV customer losses with its Sling-branded Internet TV service. Dish, though, does not break out Sling subscriber additions.

Shares in the satellite TV video provider fell 0.5% to 48.50 in early trading in the stock market today.
